Honors Residential College at Hume Hall

Overview

The Honors Residential College at Hume Hall is a living learning community built on the former site of Hume Hall, which opened in 1958 and was razed in the Fall of 2000. Designed as a residentially-based academic community, UF's newest facility integrates the housing needs of Honors residents with facilities, staff, and programs in support of the Honors Program.

About Hume Hall

The complex includes two residential buildings housing 608 residents, 18 Residential College Advisors (RCA), and 2 graduate hall directors. Hume is an air-conditioned hall in the West Campus and is located near tennis and volleyball courts, a convenience store, and a Boar's Head Sub Shop & Grille. Nearby is the Reitz Union, the Gator Corner Dining Facility, the O'Connell Center, Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, and available freshman parking.

A Residential College Advisor (RCA) and 33 students live in a section or “house” within the two residential buildings. There are 18 houses total, and within each are 18 suite-style rooms with baths surrounding a common lounge and snack kitchen, which overlooks the conservation area east of Lake Alice.
