Peer Mentor Recruitment for Fall 2012 – Spring 2013 School Year
Currently, we are recruiting staff members to join our Peer Mentor staff for next year. Our staff encourages residents to make good choices about themselves and others, to experience diversity first hand, and to grow from challenges.
The Peer Mentor (PM) is an adviser to residents, answering questions or responding to problems. The PM offers a variety of programs to help students learn about themselves and works to build a sense of pride and community on the floor and in the building. The PM needs strong communication skills and the ability to exercise good judgment. On top of all this, the PM is expected to be a full-time student and role model for the residents.
By reviewing the application and job description, you have taken the first step toward becoming a PM. Please carefully complete your application and return it to either the Graham Area Desk by February 1. We look forward to meeting you during the selection process. Should you have any questions, or concerns arise regarding the selection process, please contact Cliff Haynes, Academic Initiatives Specialist, at cliffh@housing.ufl.edu or 352-392-2171 extension 10670.
