International House at Weaver Hall
Overview

The International House at Weaver Hall is a multicultural learning community in a residential setting which houses up to 70 international students from UF exchange programs around the world. International exchange students are paired with American roommates to share cultural experiences and practice language skills.
In addition to enhancing interactions and multicultural experiences between international and US students, the International House program strives to create an environment where informal interactions between residents, staff, and faculty are encouraged. The goal is to bring learning to a more personal level and to reach beyond the scope of what is offered in the classroom.
See the Guide to Gator Life created especially for International House residents. This guide will help you navigate the International House, the UF campus, and the greater Gainesville community.

How Do I Apply?
International Exchange students should complete and return the Student Housing Interest Form by the deadline noted below, to the UFIC. UFIC staff select international students to live in the International House at Weaver Hall and will place students either in single or double rooms (typically the oldest students are placed in single rooms).
Once selected by the UFIC, Housing application and contract materials will be sent to participating students by the UFIC. A $25 nonrefundable application processing fee and $200 advance rent payment will be due by the deadline noted below. Payment must be made via check or money order payable to University of Florida in U.S. dollars and drawn on a U.S. bank.
The housing contract is a legal contract. Students attending the University of Florida will not be able to cancel the housing contract once it is signed and returned.
For US students: during your selection date and time, you will login to the myHousing Portal (located at my.housing.ufl.edu) to select a room. On the left side of the screen, you will select the Room Signup option. Simply indicate International House at Weaver Hall as your choice of Building, and then find an available room. Weaver International House "Recycling" Program
Knowing that most international students cannot bring everything they might need for the semester or year, the Weaver International House sponsors a "recycling" program at the end of each semester to collect items that future students may need during their stay on campus. Available items may include: sheets, comforters, pillows, hangers, pots, pans, dishes, cups, eating and cooking utensils, desk lamps, alarm clocks, as well as a few refrigerators*, microwave ovens, and other small electrical appliances. These items are available on a first-come, first-served basis. When you arrive, ask your Resident Assistant (RA) about items you would like to borrow and they will check on the availability.
*NOTE: There are no refrigerators in floor lounges. Students need to make provisions for perishable foods.
Guidelines for Community Living
The University establishes Community Standards to inform students of their responsibilities and to promote and maintain an atmosphere conducive to community living. Examples of Community Standards are: per state law, no smoking is allowed in or within 50ft of any university facility including residence halls and students must be 21 years of age or older to possess or consume alcoholic beverages.
For more information please see the Community Standards.
