Summer Conference Housing

The Department of Housing and Residence Education offers housing accommodations for various groups during both Summer Terms (A and B).

Availability and Eligibility

Most space is available from 1 June to 31 July of each year. There is occasionally very limited space in May. Space is rarely available in August but never beyond the first week. Additionally, in order to minimize program costs we prefer to book groups with at least 10 participants.

Returning groups typically have priority with respect to yearly availability. Additional groups are placed with respect to various factors. Such space is typically limited. All camps and conferences groups must have some affiliation with the University of Florida in the form of a direct contact or sponsoring department. This is necessary for both insurance and billing purposes.

All information on this page refers to our "large group" camps and conferences program. This program involves our work with groups that typically involve large numbers of guests and/or nights that are booked as single entity. The information on this page is not for our individual guest housing program.

For more information about that program including availability, rates, and general questions, please contact us at UFGuest@housing.ufl.edu

Housing Accommodations

Accommodations are provided in a variety of residential living areas around the campus. Typical room types include both traditional residence halls as well as apartment style residence halls. Availability of specific space is dependent on several variables including, but not limited to summer refurbishment projects, UF student use, and group demographics.

In conjunction with our budget planning and space utilization planning we are unable to confirm which residence halls will be available for Summer Camps and Conferences until January of each year.

Rental Rates and Payment Plan

Rental rates are determined each year by January. When new rates are available, they will be posted on this current page.

Extras:

  • Linen service, where available - $3

For 2012 rental rates are:

All rates are per person, per night.

Rates for Summer 2013 will be posted here when they are known. We expect to have more information on the rates by 1 November 2012.

Sales Tax will be charged for non-UF affiliated groups as determined by Dept. of Housing & Residence Education.

In order to minimize program costs, one bill will be provided to each group when the group's stay is complete. We do not arrange for individual billing of participants under any circumstances. Groups must have a designated "central contact" person to handle the group's finances and other arrangements.

Other Services

To reduce program costs UF Housing and Residence Education coordinates only the "bedspace" component of camps and conferences and very limited public room space in the "common areas" of our residence halls.

Our guests are often interested in other services related to camps and conferences.

Here are the most commonly asked about services:
