On Nov. 1, 2024, the Housing Application and Student Housing Agreement become available for the 2025-26 academic year.

Step 1: Log into the Housing Portal to begin the application process for 2025-26. This is where you will complete your Student Housing Agreement. You will also be given the option to renew your same bed space if it is available. If you choose to renew your bed space, and it is available, you will be all set for next year!

Step 2: If you choose to select a new bed space, you may build or modify a roommate group as part of completing your housing agreement, in preparation for selecting your room. This is an optional step but will allow you to include any current UF student in your roommate group who has completed the 2025-26 Student Housing Agreement.

Step 3: You will receive an email with your room selection appointment. This will denote when you may enter the Housing Portal and select an available room for next year. Your appointment time will be determined based on when you completed your 2025-26 Student Housing Agreement. If you have renewed your same space, you will not receive an appointment time since your space is already secured.

Step 4: Choose your room! At your scheduled appointment time, you will select your building and room preference in the Housing Portal. If you are in a roommate group, the student with the earliest appointment time among their roommates may select housing assignments on behalf of the entire roommate group for the same room/unit.

Step 5: Once you have selected a room, you are all set for next year!

If your plans change, the final date to cancel your housing agreement with no cancellation fee is Dec. 31, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. EST. From Jan. 1, 2025 to May 1, 2025, standard cancellation fees apply. The final cancellation deadline is May 1, 2025.

Timeline

Nov. 1 - Nov. 5 - The 2025-26 Housing Application and Student Housing Agreement becomes available.
Nov. 8 - Appointment times for room selection will be sent via email.
Nov. 13 - Nov. 15 - Room selection opens for residents based on assigned appointment time. 
Dec. 31 - Room selection closes, and the current student application waitlist opens. This is the final day to cancel your Student Housing Agreement with no cancellation fee.
May 1 - Last day to cancel your Student Housing Agreement, standard cancellation fees apply.

HELPFUL INFORMATION

Step 1: Login to the Housing Portal and select Residence Hall Application tab on the top of the page then select Continue next to your Fall 2025-Spring 2026 Student Housing Agreement.  

  
Step 2: You may create a roommate group. Roommate groups are an optional part of this process, but they must be created and verified before selecting your room. To create your roommate group, search for any current UF student who has signed their Student Housing Agreement for the same selected term. You can search by display name, GatorLink, or name. If you are currently in a roommate group, you will remain in the grouping unless you choose to break the group and select as an individual or create a new roommate group with others.   

  
Step 3: Explore your living options. You may filter available rooms based on room type and location. To see all available room options, remove the building and room type filters located within the left-side menu.  

  
Step 4: Choose your space and select Save & Continue.  

  
Step 5: Assign yourself to one of the bed spaces for the room you selected. If you are a part of a roommate group, the student with the earliest selection appointment may assign bed spaces on behalf of the group. You will only be able to see options that fit your group. Once all members of your group have been assigned, click Assign Beds. Please note, as room availability becomes limited all roommate groups may not be able to be accommodated.  

  
Step 6: Once your bed space has been assigned, click Confirm Room Selection to complete the room selection process.  

You will have the option to select a new space as an individual or part of a roommate group.

If you are currently in a roommate group, you will remain in the grouping unless you choose to break the group and select as an individual or create a new roommate group with others.

You can add any current UF student to a roommate group who has completed the Student Housing Agreement.

The roommate with the earliest appointment time will select the room and assign spaces for the entire group, be sure to discuss preferred buildings and room styles with one another ahead of the appointment time.
