Customer Service Representative

Housing Operations

The Customer Service Representative for Housing & Residence Life is a student position that serves as the initial point of contact for our prospective and current residents, UF students, and families. This position provides a variety of information regarding on-campus housing as well as resources on campus that enhance the student experience. In this position, students will refine their capacity to engage with a variety of groups, improve their skills in interpersonal communication, and bolster their aptitude for critical analysis and decision-making, all of which contribute to personal growth and development.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the initial point of contact for current residents, families, and guests answering incoming phone calls, responding to emails or assisting guests in the housing office resolving any questions or concerns 
  • Represent Housing & Residence Life at university wide events to promote the on-campus living experience 
  • Provide tours of on-campus living spaces to prospective residents, families, and visitors 
  • Assist prospective and current students, families and guests with inquiries regarding different residential facilities, campus resources, and various university locations, and services 
  • Respond to inquiries and promote campus life and the UF student experience 
  • Maintain and update area procedures, records, and materials 

          Qualifications

            Required Qualifications

            • This position is open to all students who are eligible to work on campus 
            • Must maintain a minimum 2.0 grade point average 
            • Registered students are employed on a part-time basis, up to 20 hours per week 

                      Preferred Qualifications

                      • Minimum of one year experience with retail or customer service in professional office setting 
                      • Extensive knowledge of the University of Florida 
                      • Strong interpersonal and communication skills 
                      • Excellent organizational skills, including multitasking, time management, attention to detail, and record keeping 
                      • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines 
                      • Demonstrate professionalism, dependability, and ability to work as a member of a team 
                      • Experience with Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
