Office Assistant

Conduct and Community Standards

The Office Assistant within the Housing & Residence Life Office of Conduct & Community Standards serves residents, and our team, by providing information that educates about the conduct process and encourages a supportive living environment with opportunities for residents to learn and grow. Students in this position can expect to advance their interpersonal communication skills, gain valuable leadership experience, and enhance their abilities to critically analyze information.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with peer-based education and outreach around sensitive issues including one-on-one meetings, group presentations, presentations to residents, and staff trainings 
  • Develop and distribute conduct training material and information to staff focused on the conduct process and community standards 
  • Assist with collecting benchmarking information to update the community standards annually 
  • Provide administrative support including answering phones, record management, routing calls appropriately and answering questions related to conduct and community standards 
  • Maintain privacy and confidentiality of student records in accordance with the appropriate regulations
  • Assist residents or visitors with inquiries regarding different residential facilities, university locations or services 

      Qualifications

        Required Qualifications

        • This position is open to all students who are eligible to work on campus 
        • Must maintain a minimum 2.0 grade point average 
        • Registered students are employed on a part-time basis, up to 20 hours per week 

            Preferred Qualifications

            • Demonstrated experience with customer service in a professional office setting 
            • Ability to actively listen, manage conflict, and interact with respect for others 
            • Experience with Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint) 
            • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written communication) 
            • Demonstrate professionalism, attention to detail, and timeliness
